COPING WITH THE UNEXPECTED

Something very remarkable happened today. Something that is very necessary that I should write about.

Yesterday, I wrote about going back home today. However, I needed to attend lectures first. Besides dad hasn't sent my transport fare, and it's advisable that I should go to school.

On reaching school, I plugged my phone into an available socket alongside others. The battery wasn't low, but I don't know the devil that led me to charge my phone that morning. I know by now you might be thinking that my phone got lost, and I found it.

That's not what happened. This incident is a longer version of a lost phone. The lecturer came into the class. We all know how strict this lecturer is, and we didn't want to fall into the woman's trap, so we hurriedly set our phones on silent mode (including me) little did I know that my phone was not on silent. I don't know if it bounced back but when I clicked there or something, but I was on the presumption that my phone was on silent.

Immediately she started teaching, a phone started to ring, lo and behold! It was my phone, and it was my dad calling. I dashed to where I plugged the phone and fix it on silent because she was already threatening to destroy the phone if she got there before the owner. When I fixed it on silent, she demanded for the phone and without objections, I handed it to her.

When the lecture was over, I followed her to plead with her and as well explain to her what happened, but she refused to listen to me. I almost cried, but it didn't move her. She sent for her course rep and asked her to tell me what to do. The course rep advised me to go and buy the woman quality food. Me that have not eaten since morning and don't even have any hope of eating until I get back home; how will I get the money to buy quality food. I pleaded with the woman, but she walked me out of her office if I couldn't meet her demand.

On heading downstairs, I met Amaka, my course mate, I explained everything that transpired to her, and she told me that nothing will make that woman give me back my phone if I don't provide what she asked from me, unless I want to forfeit the phone. Things were getting all tensed up this time and I didn't have a clue on what to do. Then Amaka helped me with 1,000 Naira to go buy rice and meat from “de peak” fast food for the lecturer. I thanked her and with immediate effect, I rushed down to “de peak,” purchased the food and rushed to the woman's office.

On getting there I presented the food to her, but she said she couldn't take it. Her course rep was already on her way to purchase food for her. Gosh! I became confused again, she said I should go eat my food and handed my phone back to me.

She asked me to be careful next time. I thanked her and left.

I met Amaka and she said I can have the food that she gave me the money out of her own free will. Furthermore, I was so happy.

If I was told that morning, that I will eat fried rice and chicken, I wouldn't have believed it. But here I am spreading my legs apart and devouring my rich food

 Lol!😂 God is wonderful!
